I had our first class for the veterans last night.  Great success teaching 8 veterans fly tying basics from all over.  Speaking of all over, 2 guys came from way down in your area.  I told them I had a bunch of connections down in WV and I would see if I could find someone closer.  Took them about 5 hours to come see me teach them some fly tying basics.  So anyone in that area that I could connect a few veterans to so they can get some local tips and even show them around?

Risen, I'm at least in Pocahontas county, but between work & other projects I haven't been able to find time to even tie my own flies or do any fishing since last spring.  Wish that I could help out.  -pp

Wow, they drove 5 hours from Marlinton WV to PA just for a fly tying class?  That's crazy!

I am, but don't know anything about tying flies.

Tell your guys to go see Juanita Fireball and the Continental Drifters this Saturday night at the Pocahontas County Opera House in Marlinton.

One of the band's fiddlers is named Mike Burns.

They ought to ask him about tying flies and local fly-fishing.

Mike Burns is an excellent suggestion Jezur67! I hadn’t thought of him. I bought a couple of rods that Mike built for a buddy of his. a while back. His buddy moved to the NC coast and pretty much liquidated his fly fishing stuff.

Risen if those fellows don’t mind you giving out their names, PM me and I’ll see if I can’t find some time to visit with them. I still consider myself a rank beginner at both tying & fly fishing, but I get by using my own flies, and I do have a couple extra vises. But Mike is by far the better resource and has a passion for fly fishing, and he’s located closer to Marlinton than I am. And he’s retired.

Thanks guys.  They're just beginning on tying but more would like some guys to share the stream with and show them a few tips and tricks.  I'll get in touch with them first and then message you.  Thanks again!
