I was thinking about this myself. I could host on Saturdays, late morning/early afternoon.

The location is in Bridgeport, in a church dining hall with good tables and good lighting. Plenty of room for a fair sized group.

If there is any interest, let me know and we can work out the details.

I'm sure the WVDNR would be willing to host us again this year for the Elkins area if anyone is interested. This would be the third year in a row.

The Project Healing Waters of Parkersburg program intends to have one in Parkersburg to benefit the veterans in our program and the veterans that come out to our big Thornwood annual outing. We haven't worked out the details yet, but plans are in the works. Anyone will be welcome to join us.

I attended one about a year ago in Teays Valley at the Fireside Grille. I've just recently got my own vice and have been trying to learn from youtube videos.  I would definitely be interested in a get together around the Charleston or Huntington area but I'm up north a bit and could maybe attend one in Elkins or Bridgeport as well.

Keep me in the loop on these and I'll send some hooks and beads for the group.  I have some new stuff coming in soon too.  Jig hooks, saltwater hooks, tungsten beads, nymph collars, and more.

What sort of skill level is reqired to attend the tying session in Bridgeport? I have a kit that my dad had which has a vice, scissors, hooks, ect. That I've never used. I've been wanting to start but looking for a baseline. I would like to attend but i dont wnt to impose due to lack of knowledge. Just wondering.

No skill level or experience needed. That's the great thing about these groups, everybody can learn something new, beginner or master tyer.

I have tied flies for nearly 50 years, but I will certainly learn something new from somebody there.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Well, although the weather turned cruddy, a few guys came out to our tying get-together today.
Tied a few flies, shared some stories and had a good time.

Hope to see some more next week, same time, same place.

I braved the weather and attended the bridgeport tying gathering this past Saturday. Had a good time catching up with some longtime friends,, shooting the bull,, and actually tying a few flies! Hope to see some new faces at the next one! Like Denny said, no matter how long a guy has tied, he can always learn something new,, and a place like this is a great lace to learn.

Count me in for another Teays Valley tying event, Ben. I had a great time at the one I attended and have gotten into tying here recently.

Keep it going through out the spring, once Wrestling season ends my life becomes much less hectic, and I would love to spend some time tying with you guys.

Ah man, sad I missed a tying get together in Bridgeport.  I haven't been frequenting the board as much as I used to thanks to two kids and frequenting another board that has caused me to want to dump money into my truck [rolleyes]
