More unemployment facts: Since Barack Obama became president in January, the number of unemployed Americans has risen by 4.1 million, reaching 15.7 million last month. That is a 35% increase in unemployment. That is 4.1 million in 9 months vs. 3.2 million jobs lost in the final 14 months of the Bush presidency. One in 10 working Americans is now unemployed. Looking at the Obama administration’s press release on October’s unemployment, one is uneasy. Manufacturing lost 61,000 jobs. Construction lost 62,000 jobs. Retail trade lost 40,000 jobs. Transportation and warehousing lost 18,000 jobs. Unemployment by race, sex and age: All workers 10.2% Adult men 10.7% Adult women 8.1% Teenagers 17.6% White 9.5% Black or African 15.7% Hispanic 13.1% Asian (not listed) American Indian (not listed) |

Reply with quote | #63 | Unemployment reached these levels and higher under Reagan in 1982-1983, yet now conservatives regard him as a godhead. (And Reagan still got re-elected.)
Of course, those same people blame Carter for creating that mess, so they can spare their beloved Ronnie from blame. Hm...sound familiar...the way you guys complain that people keep blaming George W. for troubles in Obama's term...I hate to call people hypocrites, but...

Reply with quote | #65 | Anglerhead, in post #59 on page 2 of this thread, wasn't the only one who noticed this. This says a lot, especially considering its NBC(IMO, the most pro Obama network) and his hometown Chicago affiliate.

I listen to the Michael Savage show at work and he was all over this. He is very conservative, but no fan of the "W" presidency at all. __________________ aka CT
