Reply with quote | #1 | If the rest of the month is 1/2 as good as these 1st 3 days have been ..... wow !!! Hard to remember the Lady having better flows or fishing any better this time of year . Hard to find a technique that doesn't work right now . Stripping streamers , dead drifting nymphs , swinging soft hackles , big fly and a dropper pocket water stuff , all working well . Feel like some #32 sipper fishing ? No problem ! If there is a problem it's that the fishing is almost too easy . I quit after a few hours today for the 3rd day in a row because I couldn't find anything that wasn't working . She is absolutely beautiful as well ! Water temperature 50* mid-day and air temps into the 60's again . It will be at least mid April and quite possibly later when you see that combination again ! Started off today swinging a pair of Conspiracy Theories which worked well , quite well indeed , coughing up a pair of BIG rainbows and a couple dozen smaller fish . Ran into a number of fish sipping , went with a #32 Black V-wing up , black emerger down and the flood gates were open with the majority taking the emerger . Played a round of "pitch the ant to the banks" with similar results then dropped downriver and put Top Rods magic fly to good use . Took time out to watch the browns do their annual ritual then nymphed my way back to the shop . Saw one other fisherman not counting the heron . elkfisher

Sounds awesome, I really need to come up and give her a try. The small flies are intimidating, a size 24 for me is really about as small as I ever fish. Thanks for postin! __________________ Wet waders=Big smiles |

I'm dying to come back up for a weekend, but bow season has all my free time right now when it's daylight, the walleye and homework occupy all my time after that. This spring, I will be there. Thanks for the update! __________________ "Dude, Your need to fish is overwelming" -Dave Eplin

Reply with quote | #5 | "Couple dozen...sigh" Your milage may vary .... but I am guessing it wouldn't have varied much the last couple days . "Sounds awesome, I really need to come up and give her a try. The small flies are intimidating, a size 24 for me is really about as small as I ever fish. "
Didn't need the small flies today , I just enjoy that game . Nothing to be intimidated about though really not hard at all ! elkfisher

Reply with quote | #11 | Fished it today and although I didn't have great numbers, the size of the fish were great. A perfect example of quality over quantity. None of the fish were smaller than 20". I will take that any day of the week. __________________ http://flyfshn76.blogspot.com/
