Reply with quote | #1 | In today's Dominion Post, Stefanie Loh, a sports writer, gave her WVU offensive award for the season so far. Good gawd!!!
Offensive awards: ? Biggest star: Stefanie Loh.: Offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen — Even the detractors have to admit that there’s nothing wrong with the play calling. Mullen has done a masterful job of getting the Mountaineers in position to score in every game. The offense just needs to stop shooting itself in the foot Wow, she must like bubble screens and shovel passes. "Masterful"?
Detractor here Stefanie, yes, the play calling needs some consistency.

Reply with quote | #2 | Yeah, umm....not really a "detractor" but think there is no way anyone would call Mullen's playcalling "Masterful"
Clearly the offensive star is Noel hands down.

Reply with quote | #3 | I'd like to go look at how many plays this year that Mullens has called for Noel that should have been stopped, but Noel and his athletic ability saved Mullen's butt and he had to cutback, reverse direction, and make a play on his own.... |

Maybe if they had some decent players his play calling would work. They have 1 good player and that is devine. __________________ Look out, here comes the SPOOK. Get the net. |

Reply with quote | #7 | OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! If you can blame one guy for the Eers misfortune (and you alomost can) this is your guy. He can't read when his QB has had enough. "Oh let's pass again, they are eating his lunch he's lost his confidence, and they'll never think we'd be stupid enough to throw when the run is working". He the two MLB's are staying home keying on Devine. Shovel pass. Oops, sorry Noel. I'd fire Mullen this year, and if we stink this bad next, Stew.

Reply with quote | #12 | There is no lack of talent---my goodness, we are loaded with talent. Don't we have like two consecutive top 25 recruiting classes at our disposal?
It's easy to see what's wrong with this team. It's like night and day compared to two years ago. My goodness, the blocking is amazingly bad and not just the OL. We used to have some of the best blocking WR's in the game. Our guys stayed with their assignments. Not anymore, we just stink. It's more than just scheme although that needs work too. We're just a poorly coached team, straight up. We don't play with the intensity we used to.
Hopefully Nick Saban wins his NC with Alabama this year and decides to come home

Recruiting stars mean zilch. The coaching isnt great and neither are the players. Talent usually rises to the top, so far Devine is the only one who has. Maybe a couple others. Tavon looks like he is going to be good but he is still young. Jock is tough. Brown is talented but is dumber than a bag of hammers. WR arent great by any stretch of the means. D-Backs are bad, LB corps is slow, D-line isnt bad but not great. This team is just average all around. Sorry to those who put alot of stock in recruiting. I dont. I just judge by what I see on the field.
Bad coaching plus not so great players equals a season like this. We are lucky that we play the schedule we do or things could be much worse. Lots of things need to change. It has been very boring football. This team doesnt move the ball in chunks. They just hope they break something for a long gain.
I really wanted Coach Stew to be successful but it just ain't happening.
