Kiss Your Freedoms Goodbye If Health Care Passes

by Judge Andrew Napolitano

Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn't care about the Constitution, it doesn't care about your inalienable rights. If this health care bill becomes law, America, life as you have known it, freedom as you have exercised it and privacy as you have enjoyed it will cease to be.

Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a 2,000 page bill to give the federal government the power to micromanage the health care of every single American. The bill will no doubt pass. It will raise your taxes, steal your freedom, invade your privacy, and ration your health care. Even the Republicans have introduced their version of Obamacare Lite. It, too, if passed, will compel employers to provide coverage, bribe the states to change their court rules, and tell insurance companies whom to insure.

We do not have two political parties in this country, America. We have one party; called the Big Government Party. The Republican wing likes deficits, war, and assaults on civil liberties. The Democratic wing likes wealth transfer, taxes, and assaults on commercial liberties. Both parties like power; and neither is interested in your freedoms. Think about it. Government is the negation of freedom. Freedom is your power and ability to follow your own free will and your own conscience. The government wants you to follow the will of some faceless bureaucrat.

When I recently asked Congressman James Clyburn, the third ranking Democrat in the House, to tell me "Where in the Constitution the federal government is authorized to regulate everyone's healthcare--, he replied that most of what Congress does is not authorized by the Constitution, but they do it anyway. There you have it. Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn't care about the Constitution, it doesn't care about your inalienable rights, it doesn't care about the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights, it doesn't even read the laws it writes.

America, this is not an academic issue. If this health care bill becomes law, life as you have known it, freedom as you have exercised it, privacy as you have enjoyed it, will cease to be.

When Congress takes away our freedoms, they will be gone forever. What will you do to prevent this from happening?

Grunt,

This is preposterous! This is ridiculous! This is ludicrous!

............

I fear the only real solution to the ills of our world is a massive reduction in the worlds population........or........

Lets us simply start lobotomizing those people who fail to practice the fundamentals of kindergarten......

I can't wait for it to pass. I'm going out first thing and buying the most dangerous motorcycle I can find with all the money I'm going to save since the U. S. A. is going to pay for my health insurance. I might even get that rectal exam I've always wanted, but could never afford. It will be just like Christmas morning all over again...............The rectal exam I mean.

Well the first part of rthe post was pure sarcasm. The second half though.... well.......

We have such a massive society globally and we have crossed over borders in so many ways......I really do not see a good, fair way to possible manage the resources and keep people in check as well as providing fair opportunity to all. I just do not see a "brighter" future as being possible when we have such a massive population that will be triple in the next ten years.

Libertarian ideas are great when dealing with a state. Capitalist ideas are also wonderful when dealing with a state. Socialist ideas are perfect when dealing with perfect people. However we are not dealing with populations the size of WV nor are we dealing with perfect people. So the ideals of each type of system are not being used in the ideal environment of each system.

The only solution that is viable in terms of controlling the masses is a false sense of democracy combined with tyranny. People will have to be forced to do the right thing as they will have no other choice....much like seat belts....

See if the people would just practice the fundamentals of kindergarten, we would live in a great world where we would not need taxation, we would not need an intentive government, we would need a police/welfare/warfare state.

We would all practice sharing, we would all practice kindness, we would all be willing to help each other out as well as respect hard work, enginuity etc.....

Peace on yer path.....Grateful

Not saying that I disagree that much of what they do probably should not be done at the federal level.  If our health care system does not have a big effect and actual legitimate part in (heck of a lot more than drugs or tons of the other things they regulate) interstate commerce then I don't know what does.
